David Korty is well-known for his sophisticated painting which deals with close observation of daily life in the urban environments. In the paintings, Korty effectively conveys bustled urban atmosphere and its excitement to the public despite the use of limited color and patterns. These remarkable pieces which remind us of William Turner (1775-1851) and Georges Pierre Seurat (1859-1891) describe our experience in modern life feelingly but not seriously keeping a distance between familiar objects and his own visual signs. With the diverse imaginative narratives in his simplified urban daily life paintings, Korty suggests observing the daily life with the distinctive aspect and opens up the wide range of feelings in his painting to the public.
